Sometimes you have to wonder if singer-songwriter Matthew Houck, the one-man-band behind Phosphorescent, would have been happier recording smooth country cuts back with Glen Campbell, Marty Robbins, and the like.  He may have, but he’s here now merging country tones with modern twists.
